A model for efficient digital investigations: The Investigative Lab

14/2/2016

For many years, digital forensic investigators have used specialist forensic tools to “dig deep” into a handful of computers and other evidence sources one by one. Typically, non-technical investigators and subject matter experts must rely on a digital forensic investigator to extract the information he or she thinks is relevant from each device. The result is an incomplete and subjective slice of the evidence.

This Nuix white paper outlines an investigative lab model that makes it possible to divide digital evidence and spread the review workload between many investigators and subject matter experts. This means different types of evidence can be examined by the people most qualified to understand it and its context.

Read the white paper and gain insights into:
  • The investigative lab workflow model for digital investigations
  • The lessons investigators can learn from legal discovery
  • Advanced investigative techniques that can help you look at the evidence from different angles
  • A case study detailing how the United Kingdom’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) increased the volume of data it could process each year 20-fold
